Telangana Urges Swift LPG Imports to Rescue Auto-Rickshaw Sector

The Telangana Civil Supplies Department Commissioner, M Stephen Raveendra, has directed private auto LPG companies to promptly source and import LPG to counter a shortage affecting auto-rickshaw drivers, particularly in Hyderabad.

The supply has seen a 35% reduction, with private operators holding an 80% market share. Urgent measures were discussed in a meeting to avert public transport disruptions.

Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy appealed to the central government for additional supplies. The state faces a 55 MTs daily shortfall, with around one lakh affected auto-rickshaws relying on the fuel.
