China has pledged to strengthen its relationship with Vietnam, primarily through rail infrastructure developments. This includes extending loans, sharing technology, and providing training, as articulated during To Lam's visit, Vietnam's recently elected president. His trip featured high-speed rail journeys across both the northern and southwestern regions of Vietnam.
Upon meeting with President Xi Jinping, Lam emphasized that the countries should continue to coordinate their strategic priorities. Infrastructure, especially railways, has been spotlighted as a critical focus area. Multiple documents were signed, enhancing cooperation in rail projects and increasing talent capacity for both nations.
Beyond railways, Vietnam and China have agreed to improve coordination in various sectors, ranging from aviation and technology to law enforcement. This cooperative alignment aligns with China's Belt and Road strategy, solidifying Vietnam’s role as a key partner in Asian-Europe transport links.
