SSCL sets 70 MT coal production target for FY 2019-20

State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited has set a target of 70 million tonnes of coal production for the current fiscal (2019-20). According to a release issued by the coal miner, as some old mines are closing down, special focus should be on starting of new mines and also priority to be given for removal of Over Burden (non-coal material).

SCCL Chairman-cum-Managing-Director N.Sridhar conducted a review meeting of all area general managers, directors and heads of other important departments at Singareni Bhavan here Thursday, it said. Sridhar said Singareni Coal has high demand in Telangana State as well as from other States and to meet this demand apart from increasing coal production, construction of new Coal Handling Plants (CHPs) enabling coal transport and modernisation of old ones are to be taken up immediately. SCCL produced about 65 million tonnes of coal in FY 18.
