- Country:
- India
Delhi-based menswear designer Jatin Malik showcased a collection at Via Emilio Gola in Milan, Italy, as part of Milan Fashion Week on June 15. Malik's showcased a collection that used zardozi and aari embroidery techniques re-imagined with a baroque spin. The collection traces the journey of Indian fashion from its royal history to the novelty of the European culture and the present-day global fashion movements. It features traditional wear classics such as sherwanis and achkans with metallic detailing and presents a regal silhouette on the runway.
The collection highlights the talent of the Indian craftsmen on an international platform. It depicts the baroque designs through the artistic sensibilities of the Indian craftsmen.
A part of the Milan Fashion Week, Emerging Talents Milan is being organised since 2016 and selects and promotes around 50 international brands from over 17 countries. This year, Malik collaborated with brands like Ink over Fashion to participate in the event which was held from June 14-17, 2019.
