"With this launch of the Reusable Sanitary Pads – First of its kind made with composite banana fibres - Sanfe endeavours to address the problems created by disposable sanitary pads for women health and environment both," said an official involved with the launch. Sanfe, guided by the professors of IIT Delhi is run primarily by the alumni of the institute.
The company plans to launch the product in the market in packets having two pieces costing about Rs 199 per packet. "Though the price of individual packet seems costlier if you compare it with the use and throw kind of sanitary pads, the annual cost of Sanfe reusable sanitary pad will be very low," added the official.
