While ‘NCIS’ Season 16 is set to be airing soon in the first week of December, Mark Harmon, the series one of the main characters, is guiding a new crime drama project at CBS based on John Sandford’s popular novel “Prey.”

Now due to Mark Harmon’s involvement in the new CBS project, fans are wondering if he will continue playing the protagonist’s role in ‘NCIS’ Season 16 or its next season(s). No official confirmation is received yet on his continuation or departure. On the other hand, the viewers are also eager to wait for an announcement to know when the series will again return from the hiatus after the airing of episode 10 titled ‘What Child is This’ on December 11.

The NCIS team will investigate another cold case in ‘NCIS’ Season 16 episode 9 titled ‘Tailing Angie.’ The episode 9 vows to ramp up the drama with Mark Harmon’s character Leroy Jethro Gibbs while the other team members tackling a new set of criminals. It should be remembered that this is the first time during the ongoing season CBS has given a fortnightly gap between episodes 8 and 9 (November 20 and December 4) titled ‘Friendly Fire’ and ‘Tailing Angie’ respectively.

Fans should remember that all the previous 15 seasons are available to stream on Netflix. But only Netflix users based stateside can watch all the 15 seasons online and it is yet to air on Netflix in the United Kingdom. On the other hand, the series from season 1 to 14 are available to watch online in the UK on Amazon free of cost.

As far as the spoilers for ‘NCIS’ Season 16 are concerned, the team will start an undercover stakeout when their lead suspect in an old unsolved high-profile robbery case is released from jail on December 4’s episode 9. Apart from the regular cast, some guest actors such as James MacDonald, Jeff Pierre, Susan Angelo, Patrick W Day and Miriam A Hyman will be seen playing the roles of navy admiral Norton Padgett, Lew Nolte, admiral’s wife (unnamed), Phil Iverson and Lanny Peete respectively, The Futon Critic gives the updates.

In the previous episode, Timothy McGee (played by Sean Murray) and Eleanor Bishop aka Ellie (Emily Wickersham) were sent to Afghanistan to investigate the death of 13 marines. With their utmost zeal, they manage to discover that an American private military contractor is secretly leaking the route of Marine convoys to a group of terrorists.
