Commonwealth Games Federation says discussions on 2026 host continues with other interested associations

The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) on Friday said a confidential process to determine a host for the 2026 Games was continuing "with other interested Commonwealth Games associations", after Malaysia announced it would not stage the event.

"We are disappointed that Malaysia has decided not to submit a proposal for the 2026 Commonwealth Games and thank them for their work to date and commitment to the Commonwealth Sport Movement," a CGF spokesperson said.
