A government school teacher in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has been transferred in connection with accusations of strip-searching female students to locate a mobile phone. The incident, which took place on Friday, has triggered a formal investigation.
Authorities reported that the teacher from Government Sharda Girls Higher Secondary School in the Bada Ganpati area allegedly forced five students to strip in a toilet after a mobile phone rang during class. Parents have filed complaints at Malharganj police station, claiming the girls were also beaten amid the search.
Collector Ashish Singh confirmed the teacher's removal from the school and reassignment to the district education office. Local police, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Alok Kumar Sharma, are also probing the complaint, with a woman officer set to record the students' statements. Further actions will be determined after the investigation.
