IHCL & Goa Partner to Launch Hospitality Skilling Centre

Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) is collaborating with the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Goa, to establish a hospitality skilling centre. This initiative aims to enhance employment prospects for the youth through tailored training programs, industry internships, and essential literacy sessions, aiding Goa's tourism growth.

The Tata group's hospitality division, Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), has announced a significant partnership with Goa's Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. The collaboration will establish a hospitality skilling centre in Goa, aiming to boost employment opportunities for the state's youth.

This skilling centre, as outlined by IHCL, will provide customized training programs and workshops. These sessions are designed to keep pace with the evolving demands of the hospitality industry. Participants will receive foundational literacy education and sector-specific training, including areas like front office work, housekeeping, food production, and food and beverage service, preparing them for successful careers.

Additionally, the centre will offer industry-based internships, affording trainees hands-on, real-world experience. The Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant, expressed optimism about the initiative, which aligns with Goa's vision for a robust tourism sector. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, emphasized that this venture is part of their broader social and governance framework, aimed at bolstering Goa's vibrant travel and tourism industry by creating a skilled workforce.
