This declaration came shortly after Sivankutty drew media attention by exiting abruptly from an event at the Raj Bhavan, criticizing the display of a Bharat Mata image associated with RSS events. In response to his departure, Raj Bhavan accused the minister of breaching protocol, sparking further political controversy.

Sivankutty's curriculum reforms are part of broader efforts to reinforce constitutional principles amid claims of Governors destabilizing elected governments. The updated content will feature in the upcoming Social Science textbooks, supplemented by changes to higher secondary education materials.
