Punjab's Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister, Baljit Kaur, announced the introduction of an online registration portal for play-way schools. This new system is mandated for all play-way schools and private institutions educating children under six across Punjab, to ensure rigorous monitoring of educational and safety standards.

A standardized curriculum is being developed for children below six years, applicable in Anganwadi centers, play-way schools, and primary schools. Training for Anganwadi staff is set for completion by mid-February, focusing on play-based learning over traditional textbook methods, as emphasized by Minister Kaur.

The minister highlighted the critical nature of early childhood care, noting that 90% of brain development happens by age six, making quality education and nutrition key priorities. Mission 'Aarambh' enhances this by connecting parents to their child's learning process, supported by daily activities shared digitally. Moreover, significant investments are being made in new Anganwadi centers, with Rs 100 crore allocated for 1,000 modern facilities, 700 of which are already completed.
