West Bengal's Major Push to Revamp State-Run Educational Infrastructure

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari pledges to enhance infrastructure in West Bengal's state-run educational institutions, aiming to bridge gaps with private counterparts. Addressing key issues like staff shortages and political interference, the government plans to implement modern facilities and follow the National Education Policy, ensuring quality education for all.

In a significant move for West Bengal's education sector, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has promised substantial improvements in the infrastructure of state-run educational institutions. Despite education being a fundamental right, these institutions, serving 90 percent of the population, lag behind private ones in terms of facilities and competition.

During his address to meritorious students who excelled in recent board examinations, Adhikari emphasized the government's commitment to implementing the National Education Policy. Plans include establishing smart schools, modernizing education, and upgrading laboratories and libraries in government schools. Additionally, efforts are underway to depoliticize educational appointments and fill staff vacancies.

The initiative aims to enhance the quality of education through improved infrastructure, syllabus, and the Samagra Shiksha Mission project. Emphasizing India's historical contributions to global knowledge, BJP state president Samik Bhattacharya encouraged students to embrace this legacy, noting India's pioneering of systems like voting and human rights.
