Odisha Mourns Loss of Two Sons in Kuwait Fire

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep sorrow over the death of two Odia individuals, Muhammad Jahur and Santosh Kumar Gouda, in a catastrophic fire in Kuwait. Both were working in Kuwait and their mortal remains will be brought back to Odisha. Jahur's wife is seven months pregnant.

In a tragic incident, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday expressed grief over the loss of two state residents who perished in a massive fire in Kuwait. The blaze claimed several lives, including Muhammad Jahur and Santosh Kumar Gouda.

Majhi conveyed his condolences through an X post, mourning the demise of the two Odia sons. 'Many people lost their lives in the terrible fire in Kuwait. The news of the death of two Odia sons Muhammad Jahur and Santosh Kumar Gouda is very sad. I offer my condolences to the bereaved family and pray to Lord Jagannath to give peace to the departed souls,' he wrote.

Jahur, from Karadapalli village in Cuttack, and Gouda, from Ranajhalli village in Ganjam, were employed at a private company and lived in a seven-storey building in Mangaf, southern Kuwait, where the fire erupted. Their bodies are expected to arrive in Odisha by Friday evening. Jahur's family is particularly distressed as his wife is seven months pregnant, and he had recently visited his village. Gouda had also returned to Kuwait only in April after visiting his village.
