Skateboarding Takes Center Stage at Paris Olympics

Having made its Olympic debut in Tokyo, it earned a permanent spot and will feature prominently in Los Angeles 2028. The Paris Olympics aims to further its popularity, especially in Europe.

In Tokyo, skateboarding increased viewership and attracted significant brand attention, becoming a 'core sport' after its successful debut. Despite initial skepticism from veterans fearing the loss of street credibility, it instead expanded the global skateboarding community, said Jeff Landi of World Skate.

Women's participation in skateboarding has surged since the Tokyo Games, supported by luminaries like Tony Hawk. Young stars such as Ruby Trew and Sky Brown are expected to shine in Paris, underscoring the sport's growing global appeal. Neftalie Williams noted skateboarding's unique draw, emphasizing its vibrant, innovative young demographic.
