The Maharashtra government, led by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, will deposit the ‘Ladki Bahin’ instalments for July and August on August 17 into the beneficiaries’ accounts. The newly introduced scheme has already garnered significant interest, with 1.5 crore women registered so far. The program targets married, divorced, and destitute women aged 21-60, offering them Rs 1,500 per month, provided their annual family income does not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.

In his address at a meeting of BJP workers in Akola, Fadnavis emphasized the government's commitment to youth employment. The government plans to offer apprenticeships to one million unemployed youths in the state for six months under the ‘Mukhya Mantri Yuva Karyaprashikshan Yojana’.

Fadnavis also highlighted the government's achievement in solar energy, generating 12,000 megawatts over the past year and a half. This initiative aims to provide free electricity to farmers, eliminating any financial burden on the government.

The state budget, presented in June ahead of the assembly elections, included various populist measures for women, unemployed youths, farmers, and households, highlighting the government's focus on social welfare.
