India and Poland have escalated their ties to the level of 'strategic partnership' and signed a social security agreement to facilitate skilled worker mobility. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk held comprehensive talks on expanding defence and security ties, digital cooperation, and trade relations.
The leaders announced a five-year 'Action Plan' encompassing areas like defence, trade, agri-tech, energy, green technologies, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, and mining. The partnership highlights the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Modi thanked Poland for aiding the evacuation of Indian students from Ukraine in 2022 and underscored the importance of collaboration in tackling global challenges such as terrorism, climate change, and sustainable development.
