Kolkata witnessed a massive turnout on Sunday as people from various professions protested the rape and murder of a medical trainee at a state-run hospital. The incident, which took place a month ago, continues to spark public outrage.
The victim's mother, standing alongside former students and medics, demanded the arrest of all involved in the heinous act. Around 4,000 ex-students from over 40 schools marched in south Kolkata, chanting for justice.
In north Kolkata, clay modelers led another rally, with vocal support from prominent figures like sculptor Sanatan Dinda and singer Lagnajita. Junior doctors also rallied, forming human chains and offering free telemedicine services despite their ongoing protest.
