Ashutosh Gowariker Named Honorary Chairman for 10th Ajanta Ellora International Film Festival

Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker has been appointed as the honorary chairman for the 10th Ajanta Ellora International Film Festival (AIFF), set to take place from January 15 to 19, 2025. Prominent Marathi filmmaker Sunil Sukthankar will serve as festival director. The event will be hosted in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad).

Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker has been named the honorary chairman for the 10th edition of the Ajanta Ellora International Film Festival (AIFF), organisers announced. The festival will take place from January 15 to 19, 2025.

In addition to Gowariker, notable Marathi filmmaker Sunil Sukthankar will serve as the festival director, succeeding former director Ashok Rane. AIFF is organised by the Marathwada Art, Culture and Film Foundation, presented by Nath Group, MGM University, and Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, and endorsed by FIPRESCI and FFSI.

Gowarikar, acclaimed for directing Oscar-nominated 'Lagaan' and other films like 'Swades' and 'Jodha Akbar,' described his new role as an honor. He highlighted the festival's artistic merit and its cultural significance, especially given its location in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, a hub for art and history.
