‘Poldark’ Season 5 will undoubtedly be released anytime this year but the official premiere date is yet to be confirmed.

The trailer for ‘Poldark’ Season 5 gives a first look at Ross Poldark and also hints that the much-awaited series is going to have its premiere sooner than later. However, fans of the historical period drama TV series will be disappointed to learn that the next series of ‘Poldark’ will be the last and bring a conclusion to renowned English novelist Winston Graham’s cannon.

While asked about ‘Poldark’ Season 5, the series creator Debbie Horsfield clearly stated, “As far as we’re concerned it’s going to be the last.” Hence, you should take it on a serious note that fans will get to see Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson for the last time together. However, their fate at the series’ end is still yet to be disclosed.

BBC already confirmed the series for its fifth season, and now the sources say the filming is now underway after it commenced in September last year. Aidan Turner, who is known for playing the protagonist’s role as Ross Poldark in the entire series, was earlier starring in the West End production of ‘The Lieutenant of Inishmore’ that did not finish until September 8.

In a recent post over Twitter, ‘Law & Order: UK: Duty of Care’ actress Beatie Edney (who plays the role of Prudie Paynter) revealed that she has returned to the filming work after the Christmas break. The production on the upcoming season first started in late summer and we believe that the airing will commence this summer in the United Kingdom followed by on the PBS in the fall.

According to Express, ‘The Stranger from the Sea’ is the book that has been adapted for ‘Poldark’ season 5, with the action kicking off in 1810. Hence, a jump of over a decade is expected in the plot since the last instalment.

Before ending, let’s have a look at the cast of the upcoming season of ‘Poldark’. Apart from the main actors Aidan Turner and Debbie Horsfield, actors like Gabriella Wilde, Harry Richardson, Luke Norris, Ellise Chappell will also be in the series playing their respective roles as Caroline Enys, Drake Carne, Dr. Dwight Enys and Morwenna Carne.

Whereas, we have learnt the names of some new cast members such as Lily Dodsworth Evans, Freddie Wise, Sofia Oxenham, Kerri McLean and Peter Sullivan.
