Odisha Aims to Become India's Premier Wedding Destination

Odisha is developing a new policy to establish itself as a top wedding destination, leveraging its natural and cultural attractions. The move seeks to boost the local economy, expand tourism, and create business opportunities. The state will host the 6th Odisha Travel Bazaar to promote its sites globally.

The Odisha government is devising a strategic policy to transform the state into a leading wedding destination in India. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced plans detailed during a press briefing on Saturday.

Highlighting Odisha's unique attractions like beaches, temples, and mountains, Parida underscored the potential of destination weddings to stimulate economic growth. The upcoming 'Wed in Odisha' policy aims to create necessary infrastructure for such venues.

Further, the state plans additional policies to boost tourism, including an adventure sports policy and homestay opportunities. In collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), Odisha will host its 6th Travel Bazaar to attract international attention.
