Norwegian Drama 'Dreams (Sex Love)' Triumphs at Berlin Film Festival

The 75th Berlin Film Festival concluded with the Norwegian drama 'Dreams (Sex Love)' by Dag Johan Haugerud winning the coveted Golden Bear award for best film. The film, which delves into a young woman's sexual awakening, is lauded as the final installment in a trilogy examining emotional and physical closeness.

Jury president Todd Haynes, an esteemed U.S. director, commended the film for its impeccable performances and insightful perspective on desire and the writing process. Haugerud, filled with gratitude, expressed that winning was beyond his wildest dreams and urged audiences to engage more with writing and reading.

Other prestigious awards included the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize, awarded to Gabriel Mascaro's 'The Blue Trail', a dystopian narrative about aging in the Amazon. Highlighting the importance of narrative in challenging times, Argentina's Ivan Fund received an award for his film 'The Message', which he believes stands as a cultural counterweight.
