Celebrating Peace and Progress: Assam Rifles Honours Nagaland Heroes

The Assam Rifles honoured four individuals from Nagaland for their societal contributions and efforts in strengthening civil-military ties. The ceremony recognized K. Neingunyu Sekhose, Imna Yaden, Kenei Ritse, and Neiketuno Sechü for their roles in community welfare, arts, and social advocacy.

The Assam Rifles held a ceremony on Monday to honour four distinguished individuals from Nagaland who have significantly contributed to society and fostered peace. The event, hosted at the Kenguruse Hall of 13 Assam Rifles, saw Director General Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera present medals and citations to those who have strengthened ties between the public and the military.

The honorees included senior citizen K. Neingunyu Sekhose, a key figure in civil-military cooperation, artist Imna Yaden, known for his influential music compositions, and young social advocates and beauty queens Kenei Ritse and Neiketuno Sechü. Each was recognized for their unique contributions to fostering community welfare and cultural awareness in the region.

In his address, General Lakhera praised their efforts and stressed the importance of resilience and learning from the past to combat challenges like the growing drug problem among Nagaland’s youth, while highlighting the Assam Rifles' profound connection to the region.
