Singer Sonu Nigam has taken legal action in the Karnataka High Court, aiming to quash a criminal case against him. This development follows allegations of offensive remarks he allegedly made about Kannadigas during a Bengaluru concert.

The case was scheduled before Justice Shivashankar Amarannavar but has been postponed for a future date. The controversy began on April 25 during a concert at an engineering college in Bengaluru, where attendees requested Nigam to perform in Kannada. Reports suggest that the singer refused and criticized the approach of some audience members, making a controversial comment referencing the Pahalgam terror attack.

On May 2, a complaint was filed by TA Dharmaraj, leading to a police case under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Despite issuing an apology, Nigam's legal challenges persist, prompting his plea for case dismissal.
