Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla's Triumphant Return from Space

Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla received a hero's welcome as he returned to India from the ISS, becoming the second Indian to make the space journey as part of the Axiom-4 mission. A special discussion in Lok Sabha is scheduled to mark his return and discuss India's space programme goals.

Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla returned to India to a hero's welcome on Sunday, after becoming the second Indian to visit the International Space Station (ISS). A massive crowd welcomed him with drumbeats and waving flags at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Shukla had participated in the Axiom-4 mission, alongside a team including Peggy Whitson from the US, Slawosz Uznanski from Poland, and Tibor Kapu from Hungary, conducting numerous experiments and outreach efforts. His return was met by key figures like Union Minister Jitendra Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

A special discussion in the Lok Sabha is planned on 'India's first astronaut aboard ISS', stressing the significance of India's space program for 2047 goals. Shukla is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attend National Space Day celebrations.
