Union Home Minister Amit Shah marked the beginning of the Gujarati New Year, also known as 'Bestu Varsh', by meeting supporters at his residence in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
The event saw people from various backgrounds visiting Shah's Thaltej residence, where he extended his New Year greetings and celebrated his birthday.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel engaged in comparable New Year celebrations in Gandhinagar, visiting temples and exchanging festive greetings with Governor Acharya Devvrat, as citizens wished for a prosperous year ahead.
