Speaking at the 98th FICCI Annual General Meeting, the minister advocated for a robust, technology-driven tourism economy that aligns with India's aspirations as a global powerhouse.
Addressing stakeholders, Shekhawat emphasized the fusion of culture and tourism as vital to preserving civilization and transforming memory into economic value. India, with its rich cultural heritage, is poised to become a leading tourism destination, he said, combining ancient traditions with modern dynamics.
The minister envisioned tourism as a USD 1 trillion sector driving job creation and economic prosperity by 2047. As India approaches a century of independence, Shekhawat called for a united effort to harness its cultural legacy as a global bridge, fostering growth in tourism, wellness, and human connections.
