In a recent address, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat highlighted a growing concern over the declining use of Indian languages, urging society to reflect on the erosion of their linguistic heritage. Speaking at a book launch in Nagpur, he noted the troubling trend where Indians increasingly prefer English in domestic conversations.

Bhagwat pointed out that there was a time when Sanskrit dominated communication, but now the language is often taught by foreigners, showcasing a shift in linguistic priorities. He stressed that English-medium education isn't wholly to blame, but rather the reluctance to speak native languages at home exacerbates the problem.

The RSS leader argued that there are limitations to translating culturally rich Indian concepts into English. He cited the example of 'Kalpavruksha,' a mythological tree, to illustrate the importance of preserving linguistic nuances. Bhagwat emphasized that Indian languages should be strengthened to capture ideas authentically.
