In a move signaling a shift from colonial to democratic values, Kerala's Raj Bhavan has been renamed Lok Bhavan. The decision aligns with the Union Home Ministry's directive for renaming such establishments nationwide.
Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar hailed the renaming as an important milestone. He first suggested the change during the All India Governors’ Conference in 2022, while serving as Bihar's Governor.
In recent years, Raj Bhavan Kerala has made efforts to engage the public, hosting lectures on significant topics like 'Operation Sindoor' and global economic trends. The Governor urged Kerala's residents to embrace this new era of Lok Bhavan.
