Nagaland has recently been granted Rs 4.78 crore by the North Eastern Council (NEC) to bolster youth and sports infrastructure, tourism, and cultural initiatives. This funding is part of a broader Rs 56.22 crore allocation to northeastern states in November, as reported by the Information and Public Relations (DIPR) department.

The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and the NEC Secretariat in Shillong detailed the efforts supported in Nagaland, which include infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, cultural heritage, education, skill development, and livelihood promotion. The NEC emphasized its commitment to timely financial support and collaboration with state authorities.

Additional funding of Rs 14.89 crore was released to central agencies and cultural bodies for regional and academic purposes, focusing on community development, scientific projects, and employment-training facilities in Nagaland. Significant projects include the completion of rainwater reservoirs and a skill training center inaugurated earlier this year.
