Jammu, Dec 16 (PTI) - Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has called on Gujjar institutions to conduct scientific research on the impact of climate change and reservation policies affecting the Gujjar-Bakerwal community. He emphasized that understanding these factors is vital for shaping effective future policies.
Speaking at a gathering at the Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust, Abdullah highlighted the contributions of the late Dr. Masud Ahmed Choudhary, describing him as a visionary who uplifted the community. He encouraged the use of local talent to produce research that would strengthen the community's resilience against climate change.
Abdullah stressed the importance of education and research in assessing the impact of reservations on the community, urging for a comprehensive study to guide corrective actions. Former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah also addressed the event, urging unity and education as keys to a stronger community future.
