Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday, highlighted the growing global appeal of Pongal, a festival celebrated by Tamilians worldwide, at an event held at Union Minister L Murugan's residence.

Addressing the gathering, Modi lauded the festival's tribute to farmers' hard work and its emphasis on gratitude toward nature, symbolized by venerating the land and the Sun. He underscored the importance of integrating gratitude into daily life.

Modi also connected the festival to sustaining harmony with nature and society, pointing out initiatives like Mission LiFE that reflect these values. He stressed the significance of Tamil culture as one of the world's oldest civilizations and appreciated Pongal's emergence as a global celebration.
