Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced plans to build a memorial dedicated to the victims of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy on the site of the former Union Carbide factory, which was recently cleaned of toxic waste.
The execution of this memorial will involve input from all society sectors and be carried out under the guidance of the High Court, Yadav mentioned. During his visit to the site at Arif Nagar, he acknowledged the significance of the 1984 methyl isocyanate gas leak, which is regarded as the world's worst industrial disaster.
Yadav criticized previous governments for inaction and praised the current administration's efforts in waste disposal without environmental harm. He called for accountability and highlighted the commitment to improving the lives of those affected by the tragedy.
