Odisha's Grand Toshali Swadeshi Mela Boosts Handloom and Handicraft Prosperity

Odisha Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo inaugurated the Grand Toshali Swadeshi Mela, celebrating Odisha's handloom and handicraft legacy to boost the economic prosperity of weavers and artisans. The event features 905 stalls, multiple MoUs, and artisan felicitations, underscoring governmental commitment to the sector's growth.

The Grand Toshali Swadeshi Mela was inaugurated by Odisha Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo, celebrating the state's rich handloom and handicraft heritage. The fair aims to boost the economic fortunes of local weavers and artisans, as emphasized by State Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Pradeep Bal Samant.

Singh Deo underscored the government's dedication to enhancing livelihoods within this vibrant sector. A noteworthy feature of the event was the felicitation of 12 artisans for their contributions. Furthermore, pivotal Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed to drive innovation and collaboration.

The fair, which runs until February 26, showcases 905 stalls with participants from 20 states, highlighting the scale and diversity of Odisha's commitment to sustaining and growing its handloom and handicraft legacy.
