The Delhi High Court on Friday granted an interim order to safeguard the personality rights of celebrated actor Kajol Devgan. Justice Jyoti Singh issued a directive restraining numerous defendants from utilizing her name, image, voice, or likeness for commercial purposes without her explicit consent.
In addressing the growing threat of AI and deepfake technology, the court emphasized the importance of protecting her identity from digital misuse. The court ordered the removal of pornographic and obscene material concerning the actress from online platforms. Kajol Devgan was represented by Advocate Pravin Anand.
This decision arrives amidst a wave of similar petitions by public figures seeking to protect their personality rights in an increasingly digital world.
