A 25-year-old singer from the Mewati community, known as Aslam, has been taken into custody by Nuh district authorities. His arrest follows allegations of promoting gun culture and extortion through a YouTube song, police report.
The arrest was made by the Nuh cyber police after a formal complaint on April 12 alleged that the song glorified illegal weapons and criminal activities.
Authorities are moving to shut down the related YouTube channel and Facebook accounts. "Such content fosters fear and insecurity, especially among youth," a senior officer commented. Aslam is set to appear in court soon.
