Marina Abramovic Invites Detox Through Art
Marina Abramovic's 'Transforming Energy' exhibition in Venice invites visitors to unplug from technology and engage with art through interaction. Featuring plaster bones and crystal objects, the exhibition creatively dialogues with Renaissance art. Abramovic emphasizes taking time for reflection, with the public performing as part of the experience.
A pile of plaster bones welcomed visitors at Marina Abramovic's latest exhibition preview in Venice, where guides in white coats encouraged guests to interact with crystal objects for a technology detox.
The exhibition, 'Transforming Energy,' at the Gallerie dell'Accademia, marks the Serbian performance art pioneer as the first living female artist to present there.
By urging an unplugging from phones, both Abramovic and curator Shai Baitel emphasize a unique element: the public performing to connect with the artwork, a dialogue favoring deep engagement with art and history.
