Gautama Buddha's Relics Bless Ladakh: Transcending Time and Borders

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju arrived in Choglamsar, Ladakh, on Tuesday to attend the exposition of the relics of Gautama Buddha. Describing their presence as 'a blessing that transcends time, geography, and borders,' he emphasized the relics' symbolic role in conveying compassion, wisdom, and peace.
The visit included a traditional Chöd performance by Druk Padma Karpo School students and the inauguration of the Bakula Rinpoche Memorial Lecture Series at the Central Institute of Buddhist Studies. Rijiju also paid tribute to Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, honoring him as a beacon of peace and nation-building.
The fourth day of the revered event saw participation from around 15,000 devotees. The Ladakh Buddhist Association managed the large gathering, aiding elderly and disabled visitors, while a rotating schedule ensures village-wide participation during the 15-day veneration involving 16 major Ladakh monasteries.
