Amrish Puri: Google celebrates 87th birthday of legendry actor with doodle

Google today celebrates the 87th birthday of Amrish Puri with a stunning doodle. Originally named Amrishlal Puri, this man inscribed an eternal image of villainy in the minds of millions of Bollywood movie-lovers in India and across the world.
Born on June 22, 1932, Amrish Puri played in over 400 movies between 1967 and 2005 and was one of the most successful villains of Bollywood. Today's Doodle by Pune-based guest artist Debangshu Moulik celebrates the life and legacy of the Amrish Puri who won millions of Indian and global fans by his acting calibre in typical types of roles. Amrish Puribbbbb is best remembered as "Mogambo" in Mr. India, "Balwant Rai" in Ghayal, Durjan Singh" in Karan Arjun, "Thakral" in Meri Jung, "Jagavar" in Vidhaata, "Bhujang" in Tridev, "Thakral" in Meri Jung to name a few. His role in the highly-lauded movie Chachi 420 as a comical character was highly appreciated.
Amrish Puri was born in Punjab's Nawanshahr in a Khatri family of Nihal Singh Puri and Ved Puri. He was the first cousin of the actor and singer K L Saigal. His fearful acting and spine-chilling performances mainly as the antagonist in several movies portrayed that he was certainly one of the best "bad guy" made by nature for the movie aficionados.
The talent of Amrish Puri was incredible. He was an actor who could garner a multitude of typical emotions including love and fear apart from severe enmity and hatred at one go. He was a perfect man who was brilliant in maintaining the balance for the audience in several emotions without any flinch.
On the other hand, the man known for his big eyes as a severe antagonist is still remembered for his role as Khan in Richard Attenborough's Gandhi (1982) and as the main villain Mola Ram in Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984). In many movies, he shaved his head for giving the audience splendid opportunities to tune with him in different villainous roles in subsequent movies. Spielberg had a great rapport with him, and once said about him an interview, "Amrish is my favourite villain. The best the world has ever produced and ever will!" He was honoured with several accolades during his lifetime including Best Actor Awards at Sydney Film Festival, Singapore International Film Festival, Filmfare awards to name a few.
Unfortunately, Amrish Puri died on January 12, 2005 at the age of 72. He was suffering from myelodysplastic syndrome, a rare kind of blood cancer. After he was admitted to the Hinduja hospital on 27 December 2004, he underwent some brain invasive surgery for his condition. But he slipped into a coma and doctors were unable to save him from his deteriorating condition. Google today, on June 22, honours him with a beautiful doodle for all the viewers across the world.
