Marvel Studios' next two superhero features, "Thor: Love and Thunder" and "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", will be shot in Australia. Kevin Feige officially announced the two films last week during the San Diego Comic Con, where the studio also unveiled a number of other projects, including "The Eternals" and "Black Widow" standalone.

"Thor: Love and Thunder" will be directed by Taika Waititi, who previously helmed the 2017 blockbuster "Thor: Ragnarok". Unlike the previous film, which was shot in Gold Coast, Queensland, "Love and Thunder" will be filmed in Disney-owned Fox Studios in Sydney, reported Variety.

The film is set to receive more than USD 16.7 million in subsidies from the Australian federal government and the New South Wales (NSW) state government. The announcement was made by NSW minister for the arts Don Harwin, who also revealed that Marvel's "Shang-Chi" will be shot in the state.

Production on "Shang-Chi" will start first, with "Love and Thunder" following months later. David Grant, vice president of Marvel Studios, said, "Shooting 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' and 'Thor: Love and Thunder' back to back will provide local crews with sustained, continuous employment opportunities. We will be working with local educational institutions in creating internship opportunities."

"Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" will release worldwide on February 12, 2021, while "Thor: Love and Thunder" will bow out on November 5, 2021.
