Jamal Khashoggi not in consulate nor in custody: Saudi

A Saudi official said on Wednesday that prominent Saudi commentator Jamal Khashoggi was not in the country's consulate in Istanbul, despite a report from Turkey that he has gone missing there.

"He is not in the consulate nor in Saudi custody," a Saudi official told Reuters. Khashoggi's fiancee earlier said the commentator had gone missing inside the consulate, and Turkey's presidential spokesman said on Wednesday that Khashoggi was still in the building.
