China proposes additional terms for data export rules

China's cyberspace regulator on Thursday proposed additional terms pertaining to laws governing the transfer of data abroad, saying that data generated in activities such as international trade or academic cooperation may not need to undergo security checks.

The Cyberspace Administration of China said the proposed provisions would be open to public comment until October 15.
