Protests Spur Heightened Security at Deputy CM Fadnavis' Residences

Security was increased at Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' residences following a nearby protest by a local outfit opposing pre-paid electricity meters. The protest occurred at Variety Square, and security was heightened at his official and private residences three to four kilometers from the protest site.

In response to a protest by a local outfit, security measures were significantly enhanced at Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' residences in Nagpur, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The deputy CM's official residence at Devgiri, located in Civil Lines, and his private residence at Trikoni Park in Dharampeth area are within a short distance of each other and the protest site.

Activists from the Jai Vidarbha party gathered at Variety Square to express their discontent with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited's decision to install pre-paid meters. In response, a senior police official stated that precautionary security measures were put in place at both of Fadnavis' residences.
