The Border Security Force (BSF) has successfully intercepted 570 grams of heroin in a farming field located in Kilche village, Ferozepur district. An official release from the BSF announced that the operation was based on actionable intelligence received on July 11, 2024, about narcotics being present in the border area.

The search operation commenced at approximately 6:15 am, leading to the recovery of 1 packet of suspected heroin, weighing 570 grams. The narcotics were found wrapped in yellow adhesive tape, accompanied by a metal ring and a small torch.

Reliable intelligence and prompt action by the BSF troops thwarted yet another attempt at drug smuggling across the border, the release stated. This follows a similar incident where, acting on a tip-off, BSF and Punjab Police seized 566 grams of suspected heroin in Taran Taran district.
