Veteran BJP Leader Prabhat Jha Passes Away at 67

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday expressed his grief and condolences on the death of veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Prabhat Jha. Jha passed away at a Delhi hospital on Friday morning at the age of 67 after a prolonged illness.

Chief Minister Yadav took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to convey his sorrow: "Quite sad news was received about the demise of former state president of BJP MP and senior leader Prabhat Jha. May Baba Mahakal give peace to the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss." He also added that Jha's significant contribution to the development of Madhya Pradesh would continue to inspire. "Your demise is an irreparable loss to the political world. Om Shanti!" Yadav wrote.

BJP state president VD Sharma and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also paid their tributes. Sharma said, "Received very sad news about the demise of senior BJP leader, former state president of BJP MP, Prabhat Jha. May God give peace to the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this terrible loss. Om Shanti!" Dhami echoed similar sentiments, noting Jha's prominent roles, including as a former Rajya Sabha MP and state BJP president. "I pray to God to rest the departed soul in peace and provide strength to the bereaved family members and supporters to bear the loss. Humble tribute!"

Jha was born on June 4, 1957, in Hariharpur, Darbhanga district, Bihar. He served as the Madhya Pradesh BJP president from 2010 to 2012 and was elected as a Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh in 2008.
