Opposition leaders Mallikarjun Kharge (Rajya Sabha) and Rahul Gandhi (Lok Sabha) are set to participate in an all-party meeting convened by the central government on Tuesday. The gathering aims to address the ongoing situation in Bangladesh, with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar scheduled to provide a detailed briefing.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina tendered her resignation on Monday amidst escalating protests. She arrived at the Hindon Air Base near New Delhi aboard a C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft. The unrest resulted in at least 135 fatalities due to police firings, mob beatings, and arson, according to reports from the Dhaka Tribune.

Prothom Alo, quoting sources from Dhaka Medical College Hospital, reported that 500 individuals were treated for various injuries, including gunshot wounds, with 70 admitted for further care. The departure of Sheikh Hasina spurred nationwide celebrations. The protests, primarily driven by students against a quota system for government jobs, evolved into a broader uprising against Hasina and her Awami League party. On Sunday alone, 95 people, including 14 police officers, were killed and hundreds injured in clashes in Dhaka.
