Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves Massive Overhaul of Jails and Educational Institutes
The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, led by CM Mohan Yadav, has approved a hefty Rs 73.44 crore for jail constructions and numerous new posts across the state. The council also greenlit the launch of new technical branches in Rewa's Polytechnic College and funds for financial management improvements.

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, presided over by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, sanctioned extensive administrative works, including jail construction and job creation across the state during a meeting at Mantralaya, Bhopal, on Wednesday.
An official release disclosed that the Cabinet approved Rs 73.44 crore for residential houses and 60 new posts in Burhanpur Jail. Additional approvals included Rs 19.44 crore and 33 posts for Sub Jail Mauganj, and upgrades to Sub Jail Maihar, Anuppur, Teonthar, Badnagar, and Gairatganj, bringing total new posts to 279.
The council also sanctioned the introduction of Civil and Mechanical branches in Government Polytechnic College, Rewa, retaining the existing Fire Technology and Safety Branch. Approximately Rs 592 lakh was approved for recurring and non-recurring expenses. Moreover, 47 new posts were created in the Directorate of Financial Management Information System under the Finance Department, aiming to enhance financial management accuracy.
In addition, the Cabinet raised the last rites amount for Loktantra Senanis from Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000, including state honours for their cremation.
