In anticipation of Independence Day celebrations, security measures have been intensified throughout the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hoist the Tricolour and deliver a national address from the Red Fort on Thursday. To ensure safety, Delhi police have deployed additional personnel in the area, with bomb disposal units conducting thorough checks aided by sniffer dogs. Artificial intelligence and numerous CCTV cameras are being utilized to bolster surveillance.

Special cameras installed on Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD) have been integrated with facial recognition systems to monitor invitees at the Red Fort. Joint patrols by Delhi Police and Border Security Force personnel are ongoing along the Yamuna River, with surveillance being carried out using binoculars.

In Punjab, security has been ramped up with daily measures taken to ensure public safety. Bathinda Police have been proactive, conducting flag marches in sensitive areas, according to SSP Amneet Kondal.

Security has also been tightened in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba region ahead of the 78th Independence Day. A special checkpoint has been set up on the Batote-Doda highway, as Indian Army and J&K Police engage in a joint operation in the Akar Forest near Patnitop. Contact with insurgents has been established, and operations are underway.

In Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh, the police have heightened security in all sensitive areas. ADCP Noida Manish Mishra emphasized that suspicious vehicles are being examined as part of the enhanced vigilance.
