Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday commended the Narendra Modi-led central government for sanctioning a new railway project between Indore and Mumbai, labeling it as a '56-inch man government.' The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Modi, approved the project, which will be executed by the Ministry of Railways at a cost of approximately Rs. 18,036 crore.

'Today and yesterday have been among the happiest days for Madhya Pradesh since independence,' stated CM Yadav during a press conference in Indore. The project, connecting Ujjain to Mumbai via Mahakaleshwar and Trimbakeshwar, will serve the tribal regions of Malwa and Nimar, areas that have faced significant migration due to the lack of railway infrastructure.

CM Yadav described the swift approval of the project as remarkable, crediting Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for encouraging the proposal. Yadav emphasized the project's potential to benefit the entire country due to Madhya Pradesh's central location. Railways Minister Vaishnaw, addressing the press virtually, detailed that the 309 km Indore-Manmad railway line, costing around Rs. 18,000 crore, promises significant connectivity advantages.
