India to Host ICA General Assembly and Global Cooperative Conference in Historic First
For the first time in 130 years, India will host the International Cooperative Alliance's General Assembly and Global Cooperative Conference. The event, organized by IFFCO, is set for November 25-30, 2024, in New Delhi. Amit Shah will chair the inaugural session, marking the launch of UN IYC2025.

In a historic first, India will host the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) General Assembly and Global Cooperative Conference. Orchestrated by the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO), the event will take place from November 25 to 30, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
According to IFFCO, Amit Shah, Minister of Cooperation, Government of India, will be the Chief Guest at the conference on November 25, 2024, and will chair the inaugural session of the Global Cooperative Conference. The decision to host the event in India was agreed upon during the ICA Board meeting held in Brussels on June 28, 2023.
Additionally, at a United Nations Organisation (UNO) meeting, it was decided that the Global Cooperative Conference in India will also serve as the official launch of the UN International Year of Cooperatives (2025).
