Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced ambitious plans for Himachal Pradesh, forecasting the harnessing of 72 MW of solar power across seven projects by December 2025, according to an official statement on Wednesday.

Construction has begun on two solar projects in Una district, with capacities of 12 MW and 11 MW respectively, alongside three ongoing projects in Solan district. These include a 13 MW project in Nalagarh, an 8 MW plant at Bara Barot, and another 13 MW installation at Dabhota Majra. Bids for an additional 9 MW project in Dabhota and 6 MW in Una district have also been initiated.

The Chief Minister emphasized the state's commitment to becoming the first 'Green Energy' state by 2026, aiming to mitigate climate change effects and secure renewable energy for future generations. Green hydrogen initiatives are progressing through a partnership with Oil India Limited, reinforcing the state’s green energy ambition.
